About Us
We live in an era where the boundary between physical and digital is increasingly blurred. Augmented Society Italia was born from the belief that this fusion shouldn’t isolate us, but rather, should push us to go out, explore, and connect.
We’re not just gamers. We’re urban explorers. We use Augmented Reality (AR) and geolocation-based technologies as a magnifying glass to rediscover the artistic, historical, and cultural heritage that surrounds us. Our “playing field” is the real world: squares, monuments, parks, and streets we pass every day without really looking.

We map often-forgotten places of artistic and cultural interest, transforming them into digital interaction points to encourage visits and protection.

We create safe and inclusive gathering spaces. Our events bring together people of all ages, backgrounds, and physical abilities, breaking down barriers through a common language: play.
Digital Education
We promote the conscious use of technology. We teach that the smartphone is not a refuge, but a tool for constructive interaction with the environment and with others.
The concept of "Augmented Society"
Why ‘Augmented Society‘ and not just ‘Augmented Reality‘?
Because we believe technology should augment society, not replace it. When a group of people gather in a square to collaborate towards a common goal, whether digital or physical, a real bond is created. That is the augmented society: a more aware, more connected, and more active community in its local area.
The organization
We are legally established as a Third Sector Entity (ETS) pursuant to Legislative Decree 117/2017 and registered with the RUNTS (National Register of the Third Sector). This qualification is not just a bureaucratic label, but a guarantee of ethical and controlled operations.
Our strength lies in our democracy. The Association’s supreme body is the Members’ Assembly, where every member has the right to vote and a say in strategic decisions and budget approval. We believe in horizontal management, where the best ideas win regardless of who proposes them.
The board of directors is the Association’s operational engine and is composed of digital enthusiasts and professionals who oversee the technological infrastructure and web projects, as well as manage institutional relations and social promotion. All board members serve exclusively on a voluntary and unpaid basis.
